About the Event

It’s that time of year again!

The 5th Annual Rocky Mountain AADE 3 Gun Shoot is scheduled for 5/15/2020 at the beautiful Bar Star Ranch near Como, CO. Shoot starts at 9AM. 

Vanessa and James Ingalls (Diamond T Services) have offered the use of the ranch again this year for this event. For those of you who haven’t had an opportunity to join us there in the past, I think it is safe to say that it is the most beautiful site you’ll ever have a chance to shoot at.

For those who have never shot a 3 Gun match, we handle ours a little differently than traditional 3 gun events. Like it sounds, the event requires 3 guns, semi-auto rifle (AR or similar design), pistol (most folks use semi-autos) and shotgun (any action type but most use either semi-auto or pump action). All firearms must be centerfire. Unlike traditional 3 Gun events we stage all firearms on tables prior to each match and then shooter proceeds at range officer’s instructions. While you can carry your pistol in holster, no magazine is allowed in pistol (or rifle) until allowed by range officer. This year we are also requiring that all long guns be cased (soft case or hard case) as they are moved to each station.  Pistols without holsters must be cased between stations as well.

If you don’t have all the required firearms, don’t let that prevent you from participating. Many teams share firearms since we don’t expect you to have to go out and purchase all of these (although it offers you an excuse if you’re looking for one or more of these).

We are offering 2 gun boards for an opportunity to win one or more firearms. One board will offer all 3 types of guns (used for 3 drawings) and the other offers a slightly more unique rifle. Like last year, several firearms will be awarded as prizes at the end of the shoot. 

We are also offering on-site camping on both Thursday evening and Friday evening (need to bring generator and water if needed) at no charge.

Dinner will be served Thursday and Friday evening and breakfast will be served Friday and Saturday AM.

If you don’t want to or can’t shoot but are available to assist us with the event, we will need help with range officers on Friday and target set up on Thursday and tear down Friday afternoon, Saturday AM. Great opportunity to see a lot of industry folks. 

Be advised that elevation is approximately 9000’ so it is strongly suggested that you drink lots of water prior to the event and beverages will available at the stations so stay hydrated. There is also some physical activity involved but nothing too extreme.

Please plan to attend as I think you will have loads of fun. We are limiting the event to 21 teams and it will be filling up fast so act quickly. We will hope to see you there.
